Use knowledge with agents

Choose which reference sources an agent can search and review the evidence it uses.

Adding a source makes it available in the workspace knowledge library. Bind the relevant sources to an agent before expecting that agent to use them.

Attach knowledge

Open the agent

Open Agents and select the agent that needs reference material.

Open knowledge settings

Review the sources currently attached to the agent.

Choose focused sources

Select only the material that matches the agent’s role.

Save the agent

Keep the source selection explicit so later tests use the intended evidence.

Start with a small, relevant set. Focused material makes results easier to test and reduces the chance that similarly named sources are confused.

Test retrieval

Ask the agent a question that is answered clearly in an attached source. Review the response and its citations, then open the cited material to confirm the answer is supported.

Run details can show the retrieval trace used for a task. Use it to distinguish a missing source from an answer that needs clearer instructions.

Update access

Return to the agent’s knowledge settings to add or remove sources. A source must remain in the workspace library and stay attached to the agent for future retrieval.
