Connections

Give agents controlled access to the external accounts they need.

Connections link AI Agent to external services. A connection represents an account; agents use only the connection accounts and tools you attach to them.

AI Agent Connections directory showing available service providers.
Browse providers centrally, then grant each agent only the account and tools it needs.

Connect an account

Open Connections, choose a provider, and follow its connection flow. Depending on the provider, you may authorize the account in the provider’s consent screen or provide a key in AI Agent.

The current directory includes direct and catalog connections across analytics, billing, code, documents, project management, messaging, marketing, and support.

Attach it to an agent

Connecting an account does not make it available to every agent. Open the agent, attach one active account for the provider, and save the agent.

Choose tools

Each attached provider can expose:

  • Reads for retrieving information;
  • Actions for creating or updating information;
  • Destructive tools for operations that can remove or irreversibly change data.

Start with reads. Add actions only for a workflow that needs them, and preserve approval steps for changes to external systems.

Manage access

Remove a connection from an agent when the role no longer needs it. Remove the account connection when the workspace should no longer have access to the provider.
