Create a focused agent before assigning it recurring work. A narrow role is easier to test and makes its tool access easier to review.
Create the agent
Open Agents and choose New agent. Enter:
- Name — a recognizable name for the agent;
- Role — the responsibility it owns;
- Description — optional context for teammates;
- Model — the model the agent should use;
- Instructions — the result, boundaries, and working style you expect.
Name and role are required. You can change the other settings later.
Add knowledge and connections
Open the agent after creation and attach only the sources and connection accounts required for its role.
For each connection, start with read access. Enable action tools only when the agent needs to change an external service, and opt into destructive tools individually.
Test a representative request
Use the agent’s test or chat view with a small request that reflects its real job. Check that it:
- follows the intended scope;
- uses the expected knowledge;
- selects the correct connected account;
- proposes external changes for review instead of silently applying them;
- produces a result in the format your workflow needs.
Refine the instructions or access, then repeat the test until the behavior is consistent.
Put the agent to work
Use the agent directly for one-off work, assign it to a ticket, or select it in a workflow or Autopilot. Keep the role focused even when the surrounding workflow becomes more complex.
Manage agents
The Agents list supports search, Mine and All scopes, activity-based sorting, duplication, and separate active and archived views. Archive an agent when you may need it again. Permanently delete it only when its configuration is no longer needed.
Only agents available for workspace management appear in this list.
